 THE TEN COMMANDMENTS!

You shall not Steal – Do not bear False Witness – You shall not Covet!

 From the Pastors Desk –

You will notice that we have ‘pew bibles’ under most seats here at CCSH. However, you may not know the real purpose as to why those bibles are there. They are there to meet two needs only. Firstly, by having one translation available for all, the congregation can stand and read aloud together the glory of the scriptures as one voice. The second, and more important reason for their being there is not what you may probably consider. They are not placed their to encourage CCSH believers to use when we are teaching, though some may do so instead of their own Bible, but are they are more importantly placed for those who do not have access or own a bible themselves. I really want to encourage you to be a bible believing Christian and a serious student of the Word. Whether it be in the traditional paper or new electronic form is not the issue. However, the most wonderful Bibles I have seen are not those kept in pristine condition. But are those that have been read and read, marked, stained, not a page stuck together through unuse. It is these Bibles that have become battle worn through trials and storms, dampened with tears and embedded with prayers and praise to the God of the Bible. Bless you in reading your own precious copy!

 Helen’s Heart

The Bible – how important it is, yet so many of us can slip out the door and forget to bring it with us. The word us called the ‘sword if the Spirit’ – Eph 6:17. Even our Lord when attacked by Satan countered with “It is written” (Matt 4). If Jesus uses the sword – His Word to defeat the enemy, why do we think we can do without it? Where is your sword – is it ready on your mind and in your heart or is it gathering dust on the coffee table? We have a great example in the Lord wielding His sword to gain victory against the enemy. Follow His example and win the battles set before you. All ladies studies in recess in the school holidays – have a victorious week – Helen.

GRACE GIVING

CCSH has a tithe and offering container at the left side of the sanctuary as you enter for your grace giving for the work of the Lord here. – CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089 for those who wish to give electronically.

2Co 9:6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

Help needed

The Sunday school and crèche classrooms will be getting new floors in the second week of the school holidays. Men are required to clear the rooms for the floors to be laid and then place back the furniture once the work is complete. Not a big task if we have a team. See our Building Maintenance Director – Reece De Jonge to be part of the team required.

Church Etiquette

We ask that once the service has commenced that should you need to leave the sanctuary that you are mindful to not be a distraction to those worshipping and listening to God’s Word. If you are returning please do so to the seating at the back of the sanctuary – thank you for your consideration.
