Calvary Chapel’s Prayer and Study Night
“This weeks study – What is God Like -?”
From the Pastor’s Desk
This week set one evening aside for family devotion and prayer with all the children and mum and dad. Then make that a weekly habit. Eat your evening meal together as a family and give thanks before you eat. Take your bible to work and place it on your desk and read it in your lunchroom. Pray for the person you met today in church through the week. Seek to attend another meeting as well as the Sunday morning service. Pray and ask the Lord about your financial giving this week. Invite someone to church next Sunday. Share the gospel with a stranger this week. Read 10 chapters a day this week in the Bible. Pray and ask God for how you can serve in church on a routine basis. Be early to church and late to leave.
Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you – 1 Peter 3:7
Your toddler has spilled yet another juice on the floor, your 10 year old is coming down with the fly and you’re trying to stay on top of what is already becoming an impossible day. When you are totally helpless, God is your Helper, your Friend, your Counsellor. God is interested in our stress, in our difficult day – nothing is too mundane for our Heavenly Father. Tell Him about your day, how you feel, your frustration, and your hurt. God cares about you and what you care about.
Sunday School Teachers and Helpers Meeting
There will be a brief meeting next Sunday after the service in classroom #1 for all involved in the 4-6 year olds.
CCSH has a tithe and offering container at the left side of the sanctuary as you enter for your grace giving for the work of the Lord here. – CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089 for those who wish to give electronically.
1 Tim 6:17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
We ask that once the service has commenced that should you need to leave the sanctuary that you are mindful to not be a distraction to those worshipping and listening to God’s Word. If you are returning the ushers will direct you to seating at the back of the sanctuary – thank you for your consideration.
