John 21:1 Later, Jesus appeared again to the disciples beside the Sea of Galilee. This is how it happened. 2 Several of the disciples were there—Simon Peter, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples. Just who are the other two men not named here? Unnamed but written in for a purpose. Could it be that the Holy Spirit had it this way as they are to represent the anonymous and hidden multitudes of faithful souls, whose names are never published in human documents, and whose deeds are never recorded in human reports. Jesus revealed Himself to these as surely as He did as to the others. The ‘two others’ represented the majority of the saints. Let us remember that Christ’s fullness we all will receive. He knows all His sheep by name!
We should make the most of what God gives, both the bounty and capacity to enjoy it, accepting what’s given and delighting in the work. It’s God’s gift! God deals out joy in the present, the now. Ecc 5:18 The Message – Each one of us is God’s special work of art (poema). Through us God inspires, encourages, informs and uplifts all those who view our lives. What a great responsibility this lays out before us as we as mothers, grandmothers, aunts, sisters even neighbours sacrifice our time, talent and love in the lives of those little ones around us. May you give immeasurably this week – Helen
