“Are We Living in the Last Days?”

 From the Pastor’s Desk

It’s finally happening here in Australia! The Church is ultimately coming under direct pressure as to what it believes and adheres to. The yes vote for same sex marriage in Australia is being used by the Lord to ‘sift’ the wheat from the chaff, to separate the fake from the real, to bring to a point of decision. The Apostle Peter warned us that For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? – 1 Peter 4:17. Dads, mums, young people, do you sense the time in which we are living? There has never been such a time as this! The prophet Joel sounded an alarm, he preached a message of repentance. Sound an alarm…for the day of the Lord is coming – Joel 2:1. Is your life, your marriage, your family on the only foundation that cannot be shaken? For the writer of Hebrews says there is a time coming when everything that can be shaken will be shaken. That foundation has to be Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection! It’s time to take stock. The Bible promises, Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved – Joel 2:32

 Helen’s Heart

O Lord You have searched me and You know me. You know when I sit and get up; You perceive my thoughts from afar. Psalm 139:1-2 We all have thoughts that are almost too unbearable to mention – they can be a sense of loneliness or isolation or the deep need for someone to understand you. Jesus in this Psalm explains in detail how completely He knows and understands us – He knows our thoughts before we think them! When next you feel disconnected or lonely turn to the One who is familiar with all your ways and connected to you.

1 Tim 6:17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

 Church Etiquette

We ask that once the service has commenced that should you need to leave the sanctuary that you are mindful to not be a distraction to those worshipping and listening to God’s Word. If you are returning the ushers will direct you to seating at the back of the sanctuary – thank you for your consideration.
