Calvary Prayer Meeting / Book of James Wed -7:00pm

From the Pastor’s Desk

We begin the Book of James this Wednesday prior to our time of prayer. Whenever I think of this book I am constantly reminded of the damage a tongue can do. James says it can start massive damaging fires when not bridled. James tells us also to listen more than we speak and to be patient in our Christian walk. This week, keep a bridle on your tongue. Keep damaging words from rolling off your lips and instead speak words of edification and praise of the grace and love of God. Don’t burn anyone with your words but instead listen more to what God has to say about the matter. Don’t be an arsonist; instead be one whose words bring kindness and comfort! Calvary Men – remember to heed what God spoke to us about at our men’s meeting!

 Helen’s Heart

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing – 1 Thess 5:16. Prayer is an essential part of a Christian’s life. Omitting vegetables from our diet will make us physically weak so too a lack of prayer life renders us spiritually anaemic. Establishing a regular time to be alone with God praying and seeking guidance through His Word sets us up to be open to God’s voice throughout the day. We can pray anywhere anytime knowing God will hear us. This week let your prayer life be ‘without ceasing’.

Grace Giving

Dads and mums don’t forget to give/remind your little ones of the blessed opportunity to give in their own Sunday school service – it will be a blessing to them!

CCSH has a tithe and offering container at the left side of the sanctuary as you enter for your grace giving for the work of the Lord here. – CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089 for those who wish to give electronically. 2Co 9:6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.

During the services

We ask that once the service has commenced that should you need to leave the sanctuary that you are mindful to not be a distraction to those worshipping and listening to God’s Word. If you are returning please do so to the seating at the back of the sanctuary – thank you for your consideration.

It’s just 7 weeks until Easter!
