New Series – THE TEN COMMANDMENTS!
From the Pastors Desk –
Over the years I have had many people come to me and say they feel God is calling them into the ministry. They want to know, “When can I start? Which office is mine? And what’s my salary?” I usually suggest that they volunteer in Sunday school and show their faithfulness there and in the church prayer meeting. If you can’t be faithful teaching a class of small children, you can’t be faithful in administering within the church itself. This is the whole thrust of Jesus parable of the talents in Matthew 25:22-30. Be faithful to what God has entrusted unto you. Prove yourself as a faithful steward over the things God has placed in your trust, and God will then give you greater responsibilities. People who show faithfulness in the little things of God will be raised to bigger things. I must realize that I cannot do more than what God enables me to do. I cannot have a higher calling than God has called me to be. It is important that wherever we are, whatever we are doing, we do all for the glory of God and we do it as unto the lord.
We are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory – 2 Cor 3:18. Bookstores are full of self-improvement books promising us if we follow these steps we will be a newer, better us. But we all know these steps may work for a little while but their effects are temporary at best. Yet when we come to Christ, we are spiritually born again. We have a complete ‘makeover’ when God’s Spirit lives within us and changes us. Our objectives, dispositions motives all change. It does not happen instantly but as we look back on our lives we can see those old ways that have been transformed already and look forward to our lives progressing from glory to glory. See you Tuesday – Helen.
CCSH – Family Event – Indoor Beach Volley Ball Night
When: Friday 30th of June (last Friday of the School Term)
Time: from 5:30 – 7:30 and our younger teens/uni age may stay a bit later if they are super keen and they are still open
Cost: age 3-11 would be 5 dollars each if they are playing and everyone else 8 dollars each (for the entire night). Spectators are free. Don’t miss this great night to get together!
CCSH has a tithe and offering container at the left side of the sanctuary as you enter for your grace giving for the work of the Lord here. – CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089 for those who wish to give electronically. 2Co 9:6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
We ask that once the service has commenced that should you need to leave the sanctuary that you are mindful to not be a distraction to those worshipping and listening to God’s Word. If you are returning please do so to the seating at the back of the sanctuary – thank you for your consideration.
