“Are We Living in the Last Days?”
From the Pastor’s Desk
When was the last time God spoke to your heart? The Bible in Hebrews 1 tells us that God speaks to us now through His son Jesus and that is through His precious word. But when was the last time you sat quiet for a time and listened for God. I take every opportunity I can to stop my busyness, pause my life and listen for God. Not an audible voice but the very presence of His Holy Spirit ministering and directing your heart within. David wrote, Psa 4:3 But know that the LORD has set apart for Himself him who is godly; The LORD will hear when I call to Him. Psa 4:4 Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still. I hear many people say that God doesn’t speak to them. I believe God is speaking to us all the time it’s just that we are often too busy to hear His voice. Take time this week to listen for His voice for He loves to speak with us and for us be alone with Him!
Your word, O Lord, is eternal, it stands firm in the heavens – Psalm 1. Can I be certain of God’s forgiveness and His gift of eternal life? Is there really a heavenly home for me made by Jesus Himself? The answer is Yes and Amen! Because God has given His word and made a covenant with us. We didn’t do anything to earn it therefore we cannot do anything to lose it. God’s blessing – forgiveness, eternal life, heaven, do not depend on what we think or feel. They depend on His word and that is for sure!
CCSH has a tithe and offering container at the left side of the sanctuary as you enter for your grace giving for the work of the Lord here. – CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089 for those who wish to give electronically.
1 Tim 6:17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
We ask that once the service has commenced that should you need to leave the sanctuary that you are mindful to not be a distraction to those worshipping and listening to God’s Word. If you are returning the ushers will direct you to seating at the back of the sanctuary – thank you for your consideration.
