From the Pastors Desk – Each time Helen and I travel, we get see a window to the world that we rarely have a chance to see. Travelling through a Muslim nation I see religion at its highest level of ritual and tradition. Where the weight of absolute adherence is apparent but so too is an absence of joy obvious as well. Then travelling through a country rich in Christian heritage but sadly now the majority of great churches and cathedrals struggle to be filled. Hereto is reflected an absence of the Christian joy once experienced during times of past great revivals. Now home in Australia, our hearts see a nation so blessed in many ways yet too a land and people living a dangerous and wilful ignorance of Almighty God and knowing nothing of His love and the sacrifice of Jesus Christ His Son. I am reminded of the prophet Isaiah in chapt. 6 who lived at a time his people were pretending to live for God but their lips and their hearts lied about their true emotions. God so loved the WORLD the Bible tells us and God is calling each and every one of us I believe who names the name of Jesus follow the cry Isaiah uttered at that time, “Here am I, send me..” Isa 6:8…for the time is short and the work is great!
Helen’s Heart – While away in Scotland, we caught the most beautiful sunset over the mountains at Fort William. The sunlight gave a most brilliant glow thro’ the mountains (which I managed to capture on my camera). It reminded me of the Scripture in Matt 5:14, You are the light of the world. It cannot be hidden, neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead..it gives light to everyone. Don’t hide your light, ask God to bring brightness to your family and friends, neighbours and work colleagues or schoolmates. So they can see your good works and praise your Father in heaven (v16). May you “shine” this week.

GRACE GIVING CCSH has a tithe and offering container at the left side of the sanctuary as you enter for your grace giving for the work of the Lord here. – CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089 for those who wish to give electronically. 2Co 9:6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
Church Etiquette We ask that once the service has commenced that should you need to leave the sanctuary that you are mindful to not be a distraction to those worshipping and listening to God’s Word. If you are returning please do so to the seating at the back of the sanctuary – thank you for your consideration.
