From the Pastor’s Desk

Have you reached a plateau in your walk with God? Have you, like an airline jet, reached the cruising altitude you desire, and have now placed the plane, or in this case your walk with God into “auto pilot”? How can you know if this has happened in your life? You can examine how your passion to serve the Lord has reached perhaps now a ‘comfortable’ level. Where as before you were early to church, participated in the prayer meeting, served in various ministries, looked forward to giving your offering. But now you have possibly backed off, more than backed off you have flat lined! In the Christian walk there is only one term used for our relationship with God. It is one of “growing”, and that continually! We are living in a time of church hopping and God hopping. People using church and God, like being in the line at a buffet where we pick and choose what we are going to have, what we like and dislike. No accountability or responsibility. Thus we see the flow on in strained marriages and family breakdowns. There has never been a greater time in the history of the church for each of us to examine our walk with God and our passion to serve and be a “living stone” in His blessed church. Are you growing?

Helen’s Heart

I remember when we were training our new German Shepherd (we actually took him to kindergarten!) We knew he would grow into a large dog and how important it was for him to be well trained. It gave us joy when “Zac” went to the top of his class and went through basic training: “stop, stay, sit, lie down and here”, with ease. It is the same with God – our simple obedience – joyful, eager, unquestioning bring God the greatest pleasure. To be able to say with the Psalmist, “I delight to do Thy will, O my God”, is the Christian’s best training.

GRACE GIVING

CCSH has a tithe and offering container at the left side of the sanctuary as you enter for your grace giving for the work of the Lord here. – CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089 for those who wish to give electronically.

1 Tim 6:17 Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. 18 Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, 19 storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

 Church Etiquette

We ask that once the service has commenced that should you need to leave the sanctuary that you are mindful to not be a distraction to those worshipping and listening to God’s Word. If you are returning the ushers will direct you to seating at the back of the sanctuary – thank you for your consideration.
