From the Pastors Desk –
Today we celebrate Palm Sunday. The Sunday that Jesus rode into Jerusalem and for the first time allowed the people to exalt and praise Him without exception. People laid down clothes they had shed in Jesus path and cut down palm branches to allow the King of kings to be worshipped as the Messiah. It was a time of great joy and when Jesus was asked by the religious leaders to quite the crowd he said in response, Luk 19:40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. Did you know God created you, designed you to give Him praise? Your whole being is created to exalt He who made us. How often sadly we give our Lord not a moment in our day when we have thanked Him, praised Him, or exalted Him. Let us never be replaced by stones; let us never be so silent that it would require a rock to do what we were created to do. This Easter season beginning today, be more than a rock, be a thankful child of God and give Jesus all the praise He deserves.
Easter Invitations – you will notice an Easter Invite Card on your seat. Please take it and give it to a family member, friend, stranger, anyone that you would like to join with us for our Easter Services. There will be more of these invite cards available for you to give out in the foyer.
When He saw the multitudes….He was moved with compassion – Matt 9:36 One of the highlights of our trip to Israel for me is to experience the Garden of Gethsemane….Sitting among the 2000 year old olive trees and imagining the location of the disciples resting and our Lord earnestly praying. I sense the battle of prayer, our precious Lord agonising; not for what He was to experience but because of His compassion for mankind – not willing that any should perish. I am grateful Jesus concluded the Father’s will be done. A special thanks to those who brought morning tea on Tuesday morning as we had a wonderful blessing in the Word and fellowship. There are still some plates to be collected from the kitchen.
Dads and mums don’t forget to give/remind your little ones of the blessed opportunity to give in their own Sunday school service – it will be a blessing to them!
CCSH has a tithe and offering container at the left side of the sanctuary as you enter for your grace giving for the work of the Lord here. – CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089 for those who wish to give electronically. 2Co 9:6 Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop. You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. “For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
We ask that once the service has commenced that should you need to leave the sanctuary that you are mindful to not be a distraction to those worshipping and listening to God’s Word. If you are returning please do so to the seating at the back of the sanctuary – thank you for your consideration.
The Son of God in tears,
The wondering angels see.
Be thou astonished o my soul,
He shed those tears for thee.
