Citizens – Part 7: A Community of Devotion

You are invited to join with Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour this Sunday evening from 6.00 p.m. for our sermon series called “Citizens” from the New Testament book of Titus. The title of Sunday’s message is “A Community of Devotion”.

Many people today desire and wish to pursue Christian community. In his book called “Life Together”, the German pastor and theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, known for his opposition to and martyrdom during the Nazi regime, wrote: “Christian community is not an ideal we have to realise, but rather a reality created by God in Christ in which we may participate. The more clearly we learn to recognise that the ground and strength and promise of all our community is in Jesus Christ alone, the more calmly we will learn to think about our community and pray and hope for it”.

What binds a community together and causes it to flourish? In Titus 3:8-11 we see how a community dependent on God’s power, obedient to His word, and united in His love can endure hardships and be ready for every good work.

See you on Sunday the 4th of March from 6 p.m. for worship and study in God’s word as we consider this important message from the book of Titus.
