Ever felt like things might be falling apart? If that is you I want to have you turn with me to a passage in God’s Word that will bring great comfort to you in your time of concern. In the Book of Colossians 1:17 Paul writes, in Him all things hold together..speaking of Jesus Christ! The author of the Book of Hebrews also writes, Christ upholds all things by the word of His power – 1:3. The Greek word translated uphold means to “support or maintain”. It’s used here in the present tense, implying continuous action. Everything in the universe is being sustained right now by Jesus Christ. He maintains the delicate balance necessary to life’s existence by literally holding all things together – the really good news is that includes you and I!
Let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need – Heb 4:16
Before Christ, we did not choose our path, it was the path of sin and we were marked by unrighteousness. Once I gave my life to the cross and gave Jesus the right to rule my life, I then had a choice – to follow and serve Christ. Grace freed me from the power of sin. As long as we continue to choose Christ’s directives in our lives then our old master (sin) has no hold over us. Choose not to compromise this week.
Tuesday morning study this week at the Chapel at 9:30 am. We finish our study in Ephesians – “be strong in His Power”. See you then – Helen
To the left side of the sanctuary is our grace-giving box for you to worship the Lord with your tithes and offerings. May your grace giving be a part of your ongoing worship of our Lord and Saviour and the continued blessing of His work here at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour. To God be the glory!
2 Cor 9:5 Therefore I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren to go to you ahead of time, and prepare your generous gift beforehand, which you had previously promised, that it may be ready as a matter of generosity and not as a grudging obligation.6 But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work
