Check with Pastor Israel for any information on community group involvement or our web page. We will be having a beach baptismal before Christmas – if you want to be part of this amazing expression of devotion to God please see Pastor Keith or Helen after the service if you want to be baptised. Next Sunday is our amazing CCSH Sunday school Christmas Play – you must not miss this amazing production! There are always opportunities for people to serve here at Calvary such as cleaning, garden maintenance, serving in the coffee shop. Make an opportunity for you to fellowship with other servants here in one of these areas and be a blessing to the whole body. The Christmas invitation cards will be available for you to collect next Sunday – pray and plan this week who the Lord would have you give or mail a personal Christmas service invite to. The three surfboards will be given out this coming Monday and Tuesday at the Secret Harbour, Comet Bay primary schools and the Comet Bay College. Please pray that these gifts will touch young lives and families to come to know Jesus Christ as the giver of life. Christmas Eve Service – 7:00 pm, Christmas Day Service and communion – 9:00 am

Fear not Mary, for you have found favour with God! Luke 1:30

Each Christmas in so many plays, there is always the privilege of who will play Joseph and Mary, two of the main characters of the Christmas story. How often, as this time of the year comes around, and I begin to read over again the events of the birth of our Lord that my heart is overwhelmed by these two people, Joseph and Mary. Mary is looked upon so amazingly today and the Bible does say that she indeed is blessed among women…Luke 1:42. What an amazing privilege Mary did have in bringing Jesus our Lord into this world and being His earthly mother. But what a massive price Mary did pay for this favour with God! Joseph nearly did not marry her. She nearly faced death by stoning. She had to leave her home travelling by donkey and give birth in a stable when she was 9 months pregnant. She bore the false accusation of being an adulteress all her life. Her husband Joseph died leaving her to raise a number of children on her own. Finally she watched her son Jesus, be falsely accused, viciously beaten and then crucified like a common thief. As I read the precious word of God, I see that people mightily used by God, wonderfully favoured by God, all lived lives that resound with trials, testings, false accusations and misunderstanding. The call of God upon a man or woman’s life is truly a great blessing but the Bible says, for everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more. Luke 12:48 May God grant you the courage to desire to be favoured by God and then the strength to be faithful to do that which He has called you to do!

Helen’s Heart

Titus 2:…the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, …., teachers of good things— 4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed. “Living in Peace, God’s promise to provide and protect, How to have a devotional, Power of the tongue, Encouraging one another as the day approaches, Marriage according to the Architect, How to raise godly children, Wonder women of the Bible.” These are just some of the topics covered by the women’s studies this year – a wide scope. Yet as the word from God instructs me as an elder woman, I personally gain the most from the studies relating to my home and family. The practical advice and spiritual guidance are always timely reminders to guard and keep the Lord in all my precious relationships. It is by following the Designer’s instructions that I can achieve success in my life, so the word will not be blasphemed. Unless the Lord builds the house…unless the Lord guards the city. Psalm 127:1  May you allow the Lord to instruct and guard you, in your most valuable asset, your family – this Christmas season.
