Coming events and general announcements at Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour

We celebrate communion together this morning as the body of Christ here in CCSH – Jesus said, As often as you drink this, do it in remembrance of Me – 1 Cor 11:25. Wednesday night we gather here at the chapel to pray starting at 7:00pm followed by our study in the prophetic book of Zechariah. Be encouraged to set aside this important time as we head towards Christmas, 51 Days – just 7 weeks! Prayer needs to be the foundation you lay for your family for a blessed Christmas this 2013. The 4/12 Youth attended a concert Friday night and had a great time and we want to thank all those who helped to make this a great night for our youth, the Lord bless you all! Thanksgiving – Sunday November 24 – be preparing to write down what the Lord has done for you to share on that morning. Pastors are available to pray with you after the service.

Col 1:10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; Paul prays that the believers at Colossae would see to it that their manner of life, their conduct, weighs as much as the character of the Lord. That is He is to be our example in life and the copy must be like the example. 1Peter 2:21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Now you might say well then that leaves me out because there is no way that I can do that. Remember this is a by-product, a result of filling ourselves with the knowledge of God’s will…which we can all do! You might be saying, “I cannot walk worthy, I will and do fail the Lord so much”. Remember Abraham of whom it is said walked before the Lord – he made some awesome mistakes but he kept on before the Lord. There is a major difference between Christianity and other religions. That is that Jesus enables us, empowers us to be able to walk worthy before Him. Eph 3:Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

CH Spurgeon said that “By perseverance the snail reached the ark.”

Helen’s Heart

Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord heard it and a book of remembrance was written for them that feared the Lord – Mal 3:16-17. As in the time of Malachi there is widespread apostasy today and Christians are in the minority. These believers feared the Lord and thought upon His name and they spoke often to one another of the Lord. We can learn from these believers, for the next verse says that God hears and records in a special “book of remembrance” all that is said in His name. God goes on to say They shall be mine. How wonderful it is that God Almighty takes time to listen and record even the smallest things said of Him and calls us His own. Selah. “Mums and Bubs” Bible study is on this Tuesday morning at 9:30 am – continuing  – “How to Love Our Husbands”. Also don’t forget to register your attendance in the “End of Year Christmas High Tea” for all ladies – November 30th!

Gen 4:4 – And Abel also brought an offering—fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth. 20 And blessed be God Most High, who has defeated your enemies for you.” Then Abram gave Melchizedek a tenth of all the goods he had recovered.
