For Your Diary

CCSH sermons can now be heard on Digital Sunshine FM. You are invited to the CCSH family lunch straight after this morning’s service. Join us this Wed 7:00pm here at the chapel for our most urgent ministry as the church prays! Calvary women, don’t forget there will be a “Ladies Walk” at 9:00am on Saturday the 12th of November. Join us for a brisk walk and a time of fellowship and coffee after! Don’t miss it and encourage a friend to join you. Please also set aside in your calendar the morning of 10th December for Women’s ‘end of year’ Christmas get together! We want to encourage you to join our church twitter family and get connected with others in the body of Christ here. CCSH servants, there will be a brief VBS 2017 meeting straight after this morning’s service. We are still in need of some volunteers to help during the week of Jan 16 – 20th, 2017. Thank you to everyone who helped with the Family Fun Night last Monday evening. Over 80 children attended and all went home with messages from the bible as well as lollies. A special thank you to 4/12 Youth for their service to this outreach and those who helped make popcorn, cake and coffee, those who set-up, cleaned-up and supervised events. 49 days to Christmas!

From the Pastors Desk

Mar 6:31 And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while: for there were many coming and going, and they had no leisure so much as to eat. There comes a time for all servants of God in the ministry to come apart to rest just as Jesus said to His disciples during a very busy time. This is not however like taking a break from church, or fellowship, or prayer or the reading of the Word of God. No, it is a coming apart to do all those things in a more intimate manner and drawing closer again to our Lord when you have been ministering heavily. It’s a time of rest in Him. It’s a time of repair for your physical body and a time to wait in God’s presence and allow Him to refill and replenish you. Helen and I each Monday evening, come apart together to just wait and pray in God’s presence. In that time, He has never failed to refuel us and enable us to then continue to serve Him and His people. Come apart…into a quiet place … and rest in Him!

Helen’s Heart

He has now reconciled you in order to present you before God Holy and blameless and beyond reproach. 1 Cor 1:22. The world demands slick, polished and perfect, we all feel the pressure to live up to this “happily ever after” version of happiness. God, however, knows very well we are unable to produce perfection. That is why He gave us Jesus, the perfect Son of God, and our position of perfect righteousness is only in Him. Let God mold and shape you toward His image this week.
