Welcome to CCSH today. If you are visiting please make yourself known to one of the Pastors so we can have a chance to meet with you. This morning we celebrate with those who were recently baptised. This week you have the opportunity to study Ephesians, Joshua and the Book of Exodus – make the most of the studies available here at CCSH. Wednesday evening we encourage you to be at the chapel by 7:00 pm sharp for our time of prayer. Hosts needed – we have some guest musicians (1 female/ 3 males) arriving from the USA at Easter, if you would like to be considered for billeting our guests at that time please see Thomas with your details. Prayer is available with the Pastors after each service. Join with us and we are looking for more men to be part of our pre-service prayer ministry each week.
From the Pastor’s Desk
I have over the years spoken to many men desiring to serve the Lord and planning how they might see this accomplished. A few have actually set out on this journey but many have simply spoken about it. In that time I have learned some keen insights to the call of God on people. I have seen that those who have the call of God to the ministry have been busy people. People who are already serving in Sunday school, youth group, serving in more than one capacity and just desirous to serve in any way they can help and meet any need the church has. They are not selective just willing and available. As I have been preparing for our study in the Book of Exodus on Wednesdays I saw this very aspect in Moses life when God called him to lead the children of Israel. Moses was busy serving as a shepherd which he did for 40 years, day and night watching over sheep. Gideon was busy threshing grain (Jud.6), Samuel was busy serving in the Temple (1 Sam.3), David was busy caring for sheep (1 Sam 17:20), Elisha was busy plowing (1 Kings 19:19-21), and Matthew was busy collecting taxes (Matt 9:9). God has nothing good to say about laziness (Prov 24:30-34; Matt 25:26-27; 2 Thess 3:10-12). So if you seriously thinking about ministering in a greater way for the Lord, examine how busy you are now, God is looking for busy people who just get things done and God will guide your steps into greater ministry as you simply serve Him with all your heart mind and soul right now where you are at!
I have loved you with an everlasting love – Jer 31:3 – Valentines Day should not be a competition of whose husband or friend can be the most romantic. Although these lavish stories captivate our interest, they enable us to succumb to the big companies capitalising from our sentimentality. Remember out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, so those little tokens of chocolate and expressions of love everlasting come from a true heart of love. No matter your ‘couple’ state, you always have God’s messages of everlasting love engraved in your hearts. I will never leave you, I forgive you, I am with you always, you are mine….Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us….1 John 3:1.
CCSH has a tithe and offering container at the left side of the sanctuary as you enter for your grace giving for the work of the Lord here. – CCSH Account number: 2490144 & BSB: 306089 for those who wish to give electronically. 2Sa 24:24 Then the king said to Araunah, “No, but I will surely buy it from you for a price; nor will I offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God with that which costs me nothing.” So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver. 2Sa 24:25 And David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD heeded the prayers for the land, and the plague was withdrawn from Israel.
