You are invited to join with Calvary Chapel Secret Harbour this Sunday evening from 6.00 p.m. for a new series titled “Advent 2017”.
Christmas is fast approaching! For adults, it seems like we only just celebrated Christmas 2016 and this year has once again seen the festive season surprise us. For children, the painful wait for Christmas day is on! This youthful anticipation is in a small way a reflection of the long wait that the people of Israel endured for the fulfilment of the promise. Advent is a season observed in many Christian churches as a time of expectant waiting and preparation for the celebration of the Nativity of Jesus at Christmas. The term is a version of the Latin word meaning “coming”. As a church, our services during this time will focus us on the true reason for the season.
Over the next four weeks, our Sunday evenings will be as follows: 26th November – Matt 1:1-17 “Mercy In The Mess”; 3rd December – Matt 1:18-25 “God Miraculously Steps Into Our Mess”; 10th December – an evening of carols and scripture readings outside in the front of the church; 17th December – Matt 2 “Kingdoms In Conflict”. See you on Sunday the 26th of November from 6.00 p.m. for worship and study in God’s word.
